Suad Ahmed is an MA graduate in Political Communication from Goldsmiths, University of London, and a Chevening Scholar (2024/25). Her research interests focus on the relationship between social media and political organizing in Africa, with particular emphasis on Ethiopia. With over five years of experience in media and online campaign organizing, her work examines how digital communication tools have transformed political organizing, as well as their broader social and political impacts. She is especially interested in mass protest movements facilitated through digital platforms and seeks to contribute to scholarship on contemporary political mobilization in Africa.
Suad is also a member of the Rift Valley Institute’s Ethiopian Women Researchers Network (EWNET) and has previously been part of Chatham House’s Common Future Conversations (2024–2025).
