The event will focus on operationalizing conflict prevention under the newly revised AU PCRD framework to address emerging security realities and foster African-led peace approaches. Coinciding with the framework’s 20th anniversary, the event will explore strategies to tackle the structural drivers of violence, promote sustainable recovery, and build long-term societal resilience. By dismantling institutional silos, the discussion aims to design inclusive, multi-sectoral prevention systems that seamlessly integrate community-led peacebuilding practices into national policies. Ultimately, the gathering seeks to identify the necessary institutional and financial arrangements to translate early warnings and local risk assessments into proactive, community-driven prevention mechanisms.
