Re-framing Africa’s Financial Future: A Call for a Decisive Paradigm Shift

Join the urgent dialogue on Africa’s economic sovereignty at our upcoming workshop, Debt, Partnership, Sustainability, Conflict and Sovereignty.

The era of small steps is over. As the 2025 G20 Africa Expert Panel report starkly reveals, global progress is being reversed, and Africa faces a convergence of debilitating debt burdens, climate shocks, and a flawed financial architecture. This workshop moves beyond diagnosing “debt sustainability” to dismantle the structural pathologist of the current system—from distorted credit ratings to exclusionary sovereign debt resolution.

We are convening leaders to translate a comprehensive blueprint into action, analyzing the political economy of transition and building a new financial pact. The future of global prosperity hinges on unlocking Africa’s potential, moving from aid-dependence to a model of productive investment anchored in African agency.

Key Themes for Discussion:

  • Africa’s Voice in International Financial Institutions: Advocating for a common position and a comprehensive, Africa-focused review of institutions like the IMF.
  • The Future of Debt, Investment, and Partnerships: Identifying pathways for Africa to beat the odds of a profound debt crisis.
  • Conflict as a Structural Challenge: Interrogating the link between rising debt, climate shocks, and the diversion of resources from peacebuilding and social investment.

Mark your calendar for 03 February 2026, and be part of the essential dialogue online that positions Africa not as a supplicant, but as an essential pillar of a more prosperous and resilient international order.
