The Tana Forum Secretariat is pleased to announce the date and theme of the 12th edition of the Tana High-Level Forum on Security. Scheduled to take place from 23–25 October 2026, the Forum will convene under the theme “Pathways to Peace in Africa: Economic Sovereignty and Geopolitical Transformation.”
The 2026 Forum will explore critical questions surrounding Africa’s pursuit of peace, prosperity, and strategic autonomy in a rapidly evolving global landscape. Discussions throughout the pre-Forum engagements and the Forum itself will focus on the following sub-themes:
- Resource Sovereignty and Strategic Resource Governance for Industrial Development.
- Digital Transformation and Inclusion.
- African Institutions and Capabilities.
- Regional Integration, Informality, and Illicit Economies.
The Forum is expected to bring together participants from across the continent in the beautiful city of Bahir Dar, Ethiopia, for dialogue and reflection on Africa’s peace and security priorities.
