Research to Build Peaceful African Societies

The Institute for Peace and Security Studies (IPSS) at the Addis Ababa University is the premiere institute for education, research, and policy dialogues on peace and security in Africa.

IPSS Insights is a weekly opinion platform featuring short, accessible, and timely commentaries on current affairs, primarily from IPSS staff. It amplifies research and ideas from the Institute for Peace and Security Studies, including highlights from the African Solutions (AfSol) journal.

Policy Dialogues

Policy Dialogues is part of the Africa Peace and Security Programme (APSP). It is a platform for African leaders, stakeholders and thought leaders to collaboratively engage in exploring and exchanging ideas on African-led solutions to security challenges.

Tana Forum

Frank, relevant and candid dialogue is fundamental to resolving conflict and transforming societies. The Tana High-Level Forum on Security in Africa is an annual meeting that brings together African leaders and stakeholders to engage and explore African-led security solutions.

Research

IPSS provides recognized academic education and professional training in conflict analysis, prevention, management and resolution. It also conducts academic and applied research in the area of peace and security that takes into account the interaction between governance, human security, socio-economic development and sustainable peace.
