

Cross Border Water Diplomacy
The Institute for Peace and Security Studies (IPSS) of Addis Ababa University (AAU) in partnership with the Pakistan Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization International Institute for Capacity Building in Africa (UNESCO IICBA) will organise a public lecture on the theme “Cross-Border Water Diplomacy.”
The lecture is expected to bring new insights with the comparative analysis of emerging cooperation on transnational water resources. This public lecture presents comparison between the treaty made on Indus Basin in 1960 and the Declarations of Principles reached between Ethiopia, Egypt, and Sudan in 2015 on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam building by Ethiopia on the river Nile since April 2011.
