Position: Training Coordinator
Institution: Institute for Peace and Security Studies (IPSS)
Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Reports to: IPSS Director 

The Institute for Peace and Security Studies (IPSS) is seeking a qualified and motivated professional to serve as Training Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, coordinating, planning, implementing, and evaluating training and capacity-building programs and capacity-building initiatives that support the Institute’s academic, research, and policy engagement objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of training and capacity-building programs;
  • Develop training schedules, work plans, and implementation timelines;
  • Liaise with trainers, facilitators, participants, and partner organizations;
  • Coordinate logistics and administrative arrangements for trainings, workshops, seminars, and short courses;
  • Support the development and review of training materials and learning resources;
  • Monitor training delivery and compile reports on training outcomes and participant feedback;
  • Maintain training records, databases, and documentation;
  • Contribute to the development of new training initiatives and institutional learning programs;
  • Support fundraising and partnership efforts related to training and capacity-building activities.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Peace and Security Studies, Conflict Studies, Political Science, International Relations, or another closely related field;
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant professional experience in training coordination, capacity development, project management, or related areas;
  • Experience coordinating workshops, seminars, executive education, or professional development programs;
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
  • Experience working with academic institutions, think tanks, development organizations, or international organizations is an advantage.
