Inspiring Minds, Charting Paths, Building the Future Together!
Despite the crucial role scholars play in articulating the foundational problems Ethiopia faces and suggesting solutions based on research and international experience, the National Dialogue process is yet to engage scholars as a community. We are excited to announce a unique opportunity for scholars from across Ethiopia to participate in the identification and articulation of agenda items and contribute to shaping the future of the nation. In light of the current challenges facing Ethiopia, the insights, expertise, and perspectives of academics are crucial in paving the way towards a more inclusive, sustainable, and prosperous future.
It is imperative that academics play a central role in generating innovative solutions to address the pressing issues that Ethiopia faces. From social and political issues to economic challenges, the intellectual contributions of academics can have a profound impact. The ongoing National Dialogue in Ethiopia presents a significant opportunity for scholars to actively engage and contribute to critical issues affecting the nation. Their expertise can help shape the dialogue, and inform policy decisions that are relevant to the country’s future. The Institute for Peace and Security Studies (IPSS) and Life and Peace Institute (LPI) aim to create the space for a selected number of Ethiopian scholars to deliberate, identify and articulate agenda items by bringing together a diverse group of academics representing various disciplines, backgrounds, and perspectives. By fostering an environment of critical deliberation, collaboration, exploration, and debate, the objective is to harness the collective knowledge and experiences of Ethiopia’s academic community to inform the way towards sustainable peace.
The IPSS and LPI hereby call for applications from interested applicants. In order to take part in this initiative, candidates must possess a strong commitment to driving progress in Ethiopia and a genuine enthusiasm for actively participating in productive dialogues with fellow stakeholders. (S)he should also currently be employed by one of the Research or Applied Science universities in Ethiopia, with demonstrated experience in social sciences research.
