Position: Training Coordinator
Institution: Institute for Peace and Security Studies (IPSS)
Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Reports to: IPSS Director
The Institute for Peace and Security Studies (IPSS) is seeking a qualified and motivated professional to serve as Training Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, coordinating, planning, implementing, and evaluating training and capacity-building programs and capacity-building initiatives that support the Institute’s academic, research, and policy engagement objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of training and capacity-building programs;
- Develop training schedules, work plans, and implementation timelines;
- Liaise with trainers, facilitators, participants, and partner organizations;
- Coordinate logistics and administrative arrangements for trainings, workshops, seminars, and short courses;
- Support the development and review of training materials and learning resources;
- Monitor training delivery and compile reports on training outcomes and participant feedback;
- Maintain training records, databases, and documentation;
- Contribute to the development of new training initiatives and institutional learning programs;
- Support fundraising and partnership efforts related to training and capacity-building activities.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree in Peace and Security Studies, Conflict Studies, Political Science, International Relations, or another closely related field;
- Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant professional experience in training coordination, capacity development, project management, or related areas;
- Experience coordinating workshops, seminars, executive education, or professional development programs;
- Strong organizational and administrative skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
- Experience working with academic institutions, think tanks, development organizations, or international organizations is an advantage.
