SUMMARY:Between challenges and responses: how is the AU faring?
DESCRIPTION:Register:  to attend online  |  to attend in person\n\n\nIn 2023\, Africa faced many security and governance challenges. Protracted conflicts continued incountries like the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Sudan\, military takeovers destabilised parts of West and Central Africa\, and violent extremism gathered pace across the continent. With nearly 20 elections planned in 2024\, democracy and governance will be put to the test.\n\nHow is the African Union (AU) faring amid these challenges\, and will it utilise its 37th summit in February to deliver a more robust response than in previous years?
