2017 marked the Institute for Peace and Security Studies (IPSS) 10th year anniversary.  In this special edition commemorating such a milestone, this review letter features:

 

 

  • Messages from Dr. Kidane Kiros, the Director of the Institute and Michelle Ndiaye, the Director of Africa Peace and Security Programme (APSP)/GIZ and Head of Tana Forum Secretariat;
  • Profiles of the institutes four academic programmes that continue to attract a range of students from all over Africa and the world;
  • The IPSS research departments’ seven publications (APSA Impact report, AfSol Journal, Policy Periodicals, Tana Forum Background Paper and the State of Peace and Security in Africa);
  • The overall activities of the Outreach and Policy Dialogues programme;
  • Our partners and the academic and management committees that are fundamental for the strategic operationalization of the Institute.

 

The IPSS Review letter is an annual review of the Institutes’ activities and initiatives in collaboration with different stakeholders towards tackling the intellectual challenges of sustainable peace and African centred solutions in Peace and Security in Africa.
